From various inspirations in my travels in Italy I came up with many ideas of different objects or costumes that I could make. All of them heavily based on renaissance paintings, sculptures, and Christianity. I call them my "Blueprints."
Religion has always been a part of my life due to my family, but the heaviness and abundance of art and architecture dedicated to Christianity was beyond what I could have ever prepared for. I took it all in as best as I could, filling sketchbook after sketchbook with ideas, notes, sketches, etc.
The only was I could truly see these things and take it all in was for me to see it as metal. I trained my eyes to look at objects, architecture, people, etc. and see them recreated as metal. Similar to wire-frames. With this new kind of eye, I created different pieces, made large drawings of ideas that really resonated to me.
